Ever since I was a child, on autumn afternoons I waited for a nod of approval from my father to be able to go with the dog into the woods under the house, and when I found some truffles I took them to school to show my classmates, I still remember selling one to the teacher.

When it comes to truffles you could even spend a whole night telling or listening to the various stories told. There is no one story the same as another: that of the freezing nights with the full moon when the sound of the bells marks the time and leaving the forest in the distance you can see the lights of the town with the dominating bell tower; or that of the foggy night of All Saints’ Day (1-2 November) in which every noise seems sinister, from that of the branches screeching, to that of the owl singing or the passage of some wild animal… This too is the charm of the unique world of truffles.
